The response regarding the email question was significant as most systems need to alert users or correspond through email. That might be something that has to be maintained in the local system which is not too big a deal unless they abuse the system put in somebody else’s email address. The larger issue may be around the creation of groups and sharing system created resources. It would be nice not to have to create a group administration mechanism also.

You know that the user has authenticated with SOME Windows Live ID but what is returned in the ID is just a number that represents the user and the service. Without know WHAT ID was authenticated it really usable for authentication. I wish that I had realized this before I started…

Have you considered doing a post on Delegated Authentication?
